Where are our products made?

Mis en Demeure mainly works with European based craftsmen. Each item is made by carefully chosen experts and any time we feel that French production would improve the quality, we tend to favour this option. In keeping with this, cutlery and lampshades are made in France, where expertise in these techniques are historically located. Fabrics mainly come from France as well, but are also sourced in Belgium and Italy. Furniture and rugs are made near the Spanish town of Malaga. Glass and ceramics are sourced in Spain, near to Valencia. A selection of lighting, accessories and mirrors are made in Asia, where they are exclusively handmade, in keeping with the rest of Mis en Demeures collection.

What are our products made of?

Wooden furniture

Mis en Demeure’s furniture fully respects cabinet-making practice; each piece is made and assembled by hand.

All visible aspects are made of solid woods or noble variety veneer. Hidden pieces are made of solid variety wood or panels. Fragile elements (feet, angles, corners and edges) are made from beech tree, dues to its resistance to bumps while remaining easy to carve.

Desktops, tables, dessert trolleys and chest of drawers are made of MDF (Medium Density Fibre), over which is layered a sheet of oak cladding, beech or north pine. This highly skilled practice allows panels to be long-lasting, without becoming distorted by time or climate, as would be the case with solid wood structures.

Drawers and internal parts are made of north pine.

Some pieces of furniture are made in Asia, using the finest quality of rubber tree or mango tress wood.

Metallic furniture

Mis en Demeure uses dark steel, which hasn’t been treated against oxidation, to ensure the metal keeps its natural aspects and showing the ageing process nicely.

All Mis en Demeure’s chandeliers are made of glass. Lamp bases are made of metal, turned wood or plaster.

What patina wood finished are available?

You can consult the product pages on our website to find Mis en Demeure’s recommended finishes available for each item. However, if the finish you’re looking for doesn’t appear on the website, don’t hesitate to get in contact with the sales team.

How long do deliveries take?

Mis en Demeure furniture and rugs are made upon an order being placed, which implies a 6-8 week production time. Depending on wood and fabric availability, this lead-time can vary; you will be informed of this when placing your order. European-sourced lighting and accessories have an average delivery time of 3-4 weeks when they are in stock. When lighting products come from Asia, the lead-time is significantly longer, meaning a 2-4 month wait. In either case, you will be informed upon placing your order.

Why don't we offer free shipping?

Most suppliers artificially increase their prices in order to offer “free shipping”. We have opted to offer our clients full transparency, meaning that Mis En Demeure's pricing shows the real costs incurred.

What should I do if my package is damaged?

If your package arrives damaged, open it to check the condition of the product. If the item is damaged, do not accept the delivery and either mention the damage on the delivery note or contact our aftersales team, using the form opposite and fill out the details.

How should I look after my Mis en Demeure furniture and rugs?
